Why Part L Consultant exists
Part L Consultant was set up by Awais Sarwar to make Building Regulations energy compliance predictable. Too often a SAP or SBEM calculation is treated as paperwork at the end of a job, which is exactly when a failure is most expensive to fix. We do it the other way round: model the design early, tell you plainly what the fabric, glazing, heating and ventilation have to achieve, then keep the model aligned as the specification changes on site so the as-built position holds together at completion.
How the work runs
Each project is assigned to an assessor with the right accreditation for the building: SAP for dwellings, SBEM for non-domestic, and both coordinated on mixed-use schemes. We work from plans, elevations, sections, the outline specification and the services information, and we tell you where a specification is marginal rather than waiting for it to fail. At completion the model is updated with the products actually installed, the air tightness result and the commissioning evidence, and the compliance report and on-construction EPC are produced from that.
